Finally the new tatting pattern is up and a SALE is coming!

Yes, It's finally up. The tatted jewelry pattern has been done for a few weeks but "Life has intervened" and so it was put off. I haven't had time to even be on the internet lately so if anyone has tried to contact me that's why there's been no answer.

This pattern is designed like my other patterns, meaning it's meant to be printed book style with the paper folded in half. Each design is written so you can print just the ones you want to work on. I used DMC and Lizbeth threads for everything but the green bracelet and earrings set. That gorgeous bright green came from Yarnplayer at Etsy. I LOVE her threads!

That's 2 new tatting patterns in less than a year. Amazing what I can finish when I really find the time to work on it. I'm working on 2 new sewing patterns and updating 2 old ones I no longer even list.

May's free embroidery will be later in the month. I've had a hard time deciding on the flowers I want to embroider in this section. It's about half done.

AND lastly, there's going to be a big SALE in the entire month of May. All of the listings will be 20% off.

Thanks for reading :)

Free tatted earring pat

I put a PDF for this earring pattern at my Patreon site: Creative Stitches

It's free! There's this white version and a black version. This is one of the patterns I cut from the new book of tatted jewelry I'm working on. It's almost done but now the holidays may keep it till sometime in January before it's done.

Fixed the tatted heart PDF

After finding the original PDF I put up at my patreon site was a mess I re-did it with charts. I think charts are so much easier to follow than written instructions. So far this tatting pattern and one for a fabric basket are up for free. There's no charge to sign up at patreon so it's all free.

info on my Patreon site and more

I finally got around to posting something at my Patreon site. I've put this off for almost a year but I had everything ready to go today to get the last embroidery directions up and decided to stop putting dealing with Patreon. Here's the free pattern I listed.

I designed this tatted heart pattern in the 90's and used to have it up at my old tripod site. I closed that and all the free patterns went away. Now I plan on putting them up at Patreon for free. Later I may add a pay for membership but for now everything will be free. These hearts make cute pins and ornaments. perfect to make and give as gifts. Below is the link.

My Patreon link

This site, NeedlenThread ,is my go to when I need inspiration. It's also a good place to see lots of embroidery stitches. I like it so much I recently joined Mary's Patreon site. I want to work on my straight stitch blending and know that working some of her projects will help.

We're working on corn flowers, which I've always called bachelor buttons, and it's been a nice break for me but of course it makes me fall behind in my other projects.

This is a picture of some things I've done. The felt and embroidered panda is from a painting class given by willowing.org. Tam has the most inspiring classes but when I saw this one I knew I had to do my own version in felt and embroidery.

The turquoise this is supposed to be a macrame leaf. I made it after taking a free class called making zen. I used to macrame a lot so it was fun to have a go again.

The felt heart is one I designed. It's going to have a bee or butterfly button added to it. I'm liking working with felt and have more than a few projects I'm designing. I'll tell you about one project, it's gnome girls! They will be another in my line of pincushions.

Shuttle Tatting - The Magic Thread Trick

Have you heard of this? I stopped tatting probably about 6-7 years ago and just started again after finishing my new tatted quilt patterns. I found Noo Bear on you tube while researching tatting onion rings because I forgot how to do them and I'm working on some new patterns. This is SO great. Love her youtubes and even bought her pattern for Butterfly kisses at etsy.

I really need to relearn some of the tatting stitches I used to make and this was really pretty. I kinda got stuck in making the squares I use for most of the quilts and got bored. That's why I stopped tatting but still kept designing patterns. Yarnplayer at Etsy also has some good patterns and beautiful threads. I've bought them so I can recommend the threads.

A New Tatting Pattern!

I finally finished a new tatting pattern. Actually some of these patterns were the original tatted quilts I made. The Grandmother's Fan and Garden patterns are not like the basic squares I use in the other 3 patterns or my other tatted quilt patterns. I was never sure about charting them so set them aside while I moved on to the basic block designs.

This pattern is now at my Etsy store. You get all 5 tatting designs plus the directions for the items they are on.

The Fans are on a circular bag. There's a pocket on the outside and a divider inside. The Irish chain is on a drawstring bag. Grandmother's fan is on a tea cozy. The pinwheel is on a pincushion with a pocket. The blockade blocks were made into pins and glued to spiral bound index cards for a journal to keep small motifs and their directions. It's based on art junk journals.

Right now and until the new year all the patterns are on sale !!

BTW, I updated the freebie Dec. pattern. I finally found all the info so the stitches and DMC colors are now listed.

Thinking about shuttles again

I've been thinking about starting to sell things at my Etsy shop and at Ebay that have to be mailed. Right now all that's up at Etsy are PDFs of my patterns.

I have 2 plastic tubes with Halloween dolls and 1 with Christmas stuff I'd like to sell but I quite selling anything that resulted in me going to the post office last year once covid hit.

You may have noticed I also stopped selling tatting shuttles and that was because of covid, too. I'm thinking about selling them again. I love the large Tatsy shuttles for big projects and they are made in the US!!! Over the years I found Clover shuttles very popular so I'm looking for a wholesaler for their line. Another problem with this is that I'll have to open an account with a new distributor and that usually entails a $200 or more order and then I have to hope they'll still give me a good discount. In case you didn't know not all wholesalers give a 50% off discount even when they insist on large orders.

So it's all up in the air, just thought I'd write about it since a customer asked about my decorated shuttles.

Mini free embroidery pattern and a chat

In case you were wondering, this is the case I use for my embroidery. I found it at the local humane society's resale shop last year. I picked it up and put it back a few times because I couldn't decide on it or a picnic basket. I'm SOOOO glad I got this but I do wish I had got the basket, too :) .The handle is leather and the box is really hard cardboard. The metal closure keeps it from opening by accident. Don't you hate when whatever you have all your supplies in opens and everything falls out? I have a pin with charms I bought long ago in the latch. It has sewing charms hanging from it.

The inside is papered with honey jars (perfect for Pooh) with a mirror and removable tray. The tray holds my basic embroidery supplies and the threads I'm using for the project I'm working on. I fill the bottom half with more threads, fabric, and more projects to be worked on.

Here's the free cherry pattern. I used it for a tablet cover I made. Look at past posts for info on the cover and a link to the free directions.

Picked these flowers in the yard. I think they're prettier than the one Jack bought me at the farm market a few weekends ago. At the bottom of the picture you can get a peek at some new embroidery patterns I'm working on. There are 4 so far with 4, maybe 6 to do.

I'm really enjoying embroidery again and love to share my patterns. I want to appologize to the tatters who followed my work. I seldom tat anymore. Oh, I have lots more designs sketched out and some done but I seem to have lost the fire I once had for tatting. As always I have WAY TOO MANY projects going at one time. I did get out all the jewery patterns I made up but soon realized all the time it would take to put together the pattern. I guess if I did my pattern much more simple I could get them out quicker but I feel the need for more detailed instructions so even beginners can follow them. So until I can figire out a way to get more time to myself for designing they will all sit in a box.

Still cleaning and sorting stuff

I was searching thru some boxes of things I had planned on selling on ebay last year but never got around to it. Now I'm glad I didn't because here are the scissors I've been looking for. I used to sell cross stitch supplies when I first started my mail order business and these were left from then. I'm thinking they'll be great for clipping off threads when I embroider something and then don't like it. They were sold for cross stitch so they should work for my embroidery, too.

The box also had some old tatting shuttles. The first tatting shuttle on the left was made by Georga Seitz. She runs free tatting classes online. The second shuttle was made in England in 2000 for The Ring of Tatters group. The rest are some vintage ones I've bought over the years. I lost interest in collecting shuttles so I was going to sell these. I also lost interest in tatting so there's no reason to hang on to them.

My DH bought me the flowers at the local farm market on Sat. I thought they'd be nice in the picture. The hankie with the W or M depending on which way you look at it was in the tin box but I wouldn't sell it. I have a LARGE collection of hankies that I sometimes use but mostly keep with some vintage embroidered doilies. Some day I'll sell them off but for now I enjoy looking thru them.

The flowers are so tiny I thought they must be done by machine but after looking at the back I'm not so sure.

Today's been super busy with housework and cooking. Luckily it's raining so no gardening , yay! This is a pic of one of the blackberry chocolate cupcakes I made. The recipe came from a free PDF booklet from Meghan Ciana Doidge. She writes fantasy books. Click on the link to extras and freebies to get a copy of the cookbook. I made a few changes since I can't have dairy. The blackberries came from the house. I have a large patch and get at least 3-4 gallon bags of berries a season. I've probably written about them if not here then at facebook. BTW, I'm not spending much time there lately. I just can't find the time. I'm hoping by fall when gardening is done I'll have time again. I miss TAST and Johanna's posts. It's become I can post here or I can go to Facebook, I don't have time for both in my schedule right now.

TAST week 7, at least one of them

Here's what I did for week 7. On the quilt top I did the week's lazy daisy stitch. The sample shows the other stitch given, the barred chain stitch. I used it on the blue/green quilt but haven't taken the pic yet because I'm doing week 8 on it. I keep all the excess quilt rolled and tucked with safty pins so it's out of the road as I embroider.

This is what I'm doing instead of what I should be doing, DESIGNING new patterns.  I am finally finishing the directions for a rabbit pincushion I actually made last fall. It would have been done but I got side tracked by another pattern idea. It's done but needs the directions written. Since it's a winter pattern there's no hurry.

BTW, I"m leaving Patternmart. I just don't sell enough there to cover the monthly rent. I'll be removing links by the weekend. You can still get my pattern at etsy. I should list them at ebay but they make selling PDFs harder. Dollmakers Journey carries most of my patterns as printed and PDFs.

I've had customers ask if I'm going to design some new tatting patterns. If you've been to my etsy store you know I don't even sell much for tatting any more. I've just lost interest. Embroidery has captured my mind right now so I don't know when or if I'll ever design for tatting again. I do have some simple patterns for jewelry I had planned on selling for a few dollars. Maybe I'll hunt for them and get them up sometime this year.

Christmas tatted bracelets at Etsy

Here's a pic of the 5 tatted bracelets I just listed in my Etsy store. They are only $5 each! I know I have enough work and supplies in them that I should sell them for more but I wanted to sell them at a lower price. There are various sizes and metal colors. Click the link to go to my Esty store on the left side of the page. They are listed at the top.

Decorated shuttles with bags - almost all are sold!

Just a quick post letting you know there's only 4 shuttle & bag sets and 1 shuttle with no bag left at etsy. I put up 2 decorated shuttles at ebay just to see if they would sell there. Here's the pics:

Both are Aerlit shuttles. I'm finding that most of my mail order customers prefer shuttles without bobbins while my local customers prefer Aeros and then Aerlits. I'm thinking my next batch of shuttles will only be Moonlits and maybe Sunlits.

Here's more decorated shuttles and bags -

Below are pics of some of the decorated shuttles and bags I have up at Etsy and Ebay. I use either Aerlit or Moonlit shuttles. Some don't have matching bags.

This one is at ebay (creativestitches). It doesn't have a matching bag because I didn't have enough of this fabric.

This one is at Etsy. I do buy a lot of fabrics and papers with butterflies. I try not to cover every set with them.

These moonlit shuttles have paper instead of fabric like I usually use. One has a butterfly and the other a hummingbird. The bottom one is at Etsy. The other has already sold.

This one has the same fabric on both sides. I usually use 2 matching fabrics. Look for it at Ebay.

I love pansies and have had this fabric for a while. Like the bear fabric I used for a set I wrote about in my last post, this one has been on my fabric shelf not being used because I 'was saving it'. Time to stop saving and start using. I'm leaving the "she who dies with the most fabric wins" club. This set was at Etsy but it's already sold.

Gray dots are not something you often see so when I found this fabric, as a fan of dots, I had to buy some. I'm glad I did cause it matched this butterfly print fabric I had bought the month before. This set is at Etsy.

Now I can get back to work on my patterns. It's been SO rainy & dreary. I need to take pics for various patterns I'm updating and new ones I'm working on. A few weeks ago I found the majority of my pattern pics had been ruined so I decided to take advantage of it and take new pics for some of them. Since I take my pics outside I need the weather to cooperate.

More Decorated Shuttles and matching bags up at Etsy!

This is one of the shuttle/bag sets I've listed at my Etsy store today. This one is so cute with the sailor teddy bears. I've been saving that quilters quarter for a while but finally decided it was time to stop looking at it and use it.

This one is another fabric I had stored on my fabric shelves but this time it was because it never worked for any of my dolls. I think it looks great for the bag.

I love these fabrics so I've made others like this set but I used different color cats.

Finally for today is this set with stars.

Prices go from $16 - $17 for these. You'll find them at my Etsy store!

I still have 3 more sets and 4 shuttles that don't have matching bags to list. Keep checking back, Thanks!

Listing decorated tatting shuttles at Etsy and other news-

Here's a pic of the first of the decorated shuttles and bags I'll be listing at my Etsy store. Six will be Aerlit shuttles and 6 will be Moonlit shuttles. I'll get another 1or2 up tomorrow and the rest next week. Today is my wedding anniversary and my husband's birthday was yesterday so we're celebrating on the weekend. At least that's the plan. I think we'll be cutting grass.😏

I had a BAD surprise today when I pulled out the box that holds the pics I use for pattern covers. Most of them were stuck together!!!!! Guess when I watered the plants on the shelf above them (when????) I must have spilled water on the box. Every pic of the new mermaid is 'glued' together. That's about 30 pictures 😢 What a huge waste. I tried heat and water but nothing is working so now I have to order new ones. I think I'll take some new pictures for some of the patterns. I never was happy with the dragonfly riders pic.

I have the new legs done for the bird riders and yes they do stand! Now for a new cover pic and wouldn't you know it, the old ones where hardly damaged.

Halloween items up at Ebay and shuttles at Etsy

I'm listing Halloween decor at Ebay under the seller name creativestitches. The picture above shows a witch cat holding a metal cage with 2 birds inside. The cat and the others are half dolls. That means they are built on wood dowels and bases. They have no legs but with the base they stand.

This is my vampire queen. Yeah, I know the photo's sideways but that's one of the weird problems with blogger.

This is Yvette, a pumpkin princess. She has a wire crown.

Here's another pumpkin lady.

Over at Etsy I put up aerlit tatting shuttles. I have some new colors.

If you are a fan of true pink then this is the shuttle for you.

Here's a new blue shuttle. Notice that the bobbins are the sky bobbins also used for the carribean sky shuttle and sold as packaged sets of bobbins. I seldom carry any of the color bobbins but I do can the pearl clear ones for the aerlits.

Put some tatting supplies up at ebay

I just got interent service back after being without for over 24 hours. Thanks a lot verizon :-p It's been happening a lot lately but not for this long. They even sent me a new modem for free. Mine was from 2007, so yeah it was time. Nice to have a modem with wifi instead of 2 separate pieces. Just hope that whatever was causing all the problems like getting knocked off the internet has been fixed.

I know I seldom put tatting things up at ebay unless they are jewelry but I decided to list 3 shuttle/bag sets and 2 chatelaines with gauges. Here are some pictures.

The 2 at the bottom have Eiffel tower printed fabric, so cute! Hope you'll head over to ebay and look for these items being sold by me, user name creativestitches. Thanks!

Shuttles and Christmas Dolls at Ebay!

I've never listed any of my decorated shuttles at ebay before as auctions but I decided to try these 3. Go to ebay and search for seller creativestitches to find what I have for sale. I've never made a heart pocket bag before and probably won't again.

I couldn't get the doll pics to upload right so please go to ebay or you can find their pics at my Facebook page.

New Decorated Shuttles and Matching Bags at Etsy Store

Just wanted to do a quick post to let you know that I've been listing Moonlit and Starlit shuttles I've decorated, some with matching bags, at my Etsy store. The pic above is one of them. See the links in the right or left columns for my Etsy store. I also have 3 more I'm thinking about putting up at ebay as auctions. My ebay seller name is creativetitches. Use it to search for things I"m seeing there.
Here are pics...
