Closed Patternmart store -

I finally closed my store at Patternmart. Today I updated all the pages here on the blog and at my website, http://creativestitchery.tripod.com/index.html . I'm embarrassed to say I found SOOOOOOOO many goofs there. Not just spelling, which is bad enough, but tons of link problems with all the old free patterns.Went over every page and think I found all the problems, at least I hope I did. :)

You can still buy my patterns at Etsy and some are at Dollmakers Journey. As always I can list them at ebay if that's where you prefer to shop.

I'm off to renew my domain name before it expires. I seem to be VERY behind on everything. It expires tomorrow. At least the taxes are done and got the refund.

Update on next pincushion pattern. The directions are almost done. If it wasn't for all this updating (Which it turned out needed to be done badly) it would be ready for sale.

I know I'm spending WAY too much time on my TAST results. It's keeping me from all the sewing I should be doing. At least I stopped playing games. I wasn't getting anything done when I was addicted to them.

Finally updated crochet chatelaine pattern done and up!

I finally forced myself to sit and finish the directions for this chatelaine. There aren't many changes from the original done in size 10 thread. This one is in size 3 lizbeth. The pockets are much larger. In fact it took almost the entire ball to make both.I also added directions for a thimble holder like the wood needle case cover.

For a limited time (until April) I'm offering to send a replacment PDF of this pattern to anyone who bought it previously. Now I have to have proof of your purchase. I can check thru my records to find your order.

You can get the pattern at my Etsy store and at Patternmart. If you prefer ebay just message me (creativestitches) there.

Etsy store closed for a month or 2

So much has been going on and I just haven't had time to blog since I'm mostly at a place that doesn't have internet. I'm lucky if I get someplace to check my emails.

Until I get internet again I can't have the Etsy store open. If you want a PDF pattern you can find them at my Patternmart page. Dollmaker's Journey also has some of my patterns.

You can still send convos to me at Etsy. They come to my email addy so it make take a week or 2 but I'll get to them.

Sorry for any problems this causes you.

Longer Shipping Times For Now

Life is getting a bit hectic and I won't have access to a computer everyday so I've set Patternmart to only PDF patterns and at Etsy I changed the 3-4 day shipping time to 1-2 weeks. I'm hoping to be able to check mail at least twice a week so it won't really take 2 weeks but just in case something would happen I set it for longer. Wouldn't it just be par for a customer to place an order in the evening the day I check my mail and do packages? Decided it's better to let my customer know shipping times aren't going to be good.

I won't be listing anything at Ebay during this time and my patterns at Patternspot are all PDFs so no problem there. If you need to contact me please go to Etsy and convo me. See the links at the side of the page. If you don't belong to etsy you can try my email but there's always the chance it will get sent to trash, bjh150  at (you know to replace it with @ don't you :) !  ) hotmail.com.

Sorry for any inconvenience this causes.

New Pattern, Buttons the pincushion bear

This is a close-up of my newest pattern. It's for a felt bear sitting on a fabric pincushion. The pincushion is then attached to a container. I used a plastic icing container and give directions on decorating it but any container with a lid could be used. You could even use a decorated gift box. I've seen some nice ones at my local Dollar Tree that would work great. The pattern is available at my Etsy store right now and soon I'll get it up at my Patternmart store. The price is $8 for a PDF version. No printed version until next week.

The reason for no printed version of the pattern is that my printer finally stopped working. It won't even turn on now so yesterday I ordered a new one. I really hate having to replace it since it worked great for so many years. Fingers crossed this one is a good one, too.

This is the cover picture for the pattern.

A little more about this pattern. It was designed for Soft Dolls & Animals magazine last fall and was to be in one of the spring issues. Sadly they stopped production with the Dec/Jan issue. I rewrote the directions in Publisher and now it's ready for sale. I'm planning on designing more. I have a rabbit and a cat waiting to be "dressed" and an elephant and mouse waiting to be sewn.

I guess doll making isn't as popular as it once was. It's truly sad to have seen so many doll magazines end over the years. One woman who was involved in the business for many years was Gloria "Mimi" Winer. I was so shocked to find she passed away this past Feb. When I was first dipping my toes into the business I wrote her a letter asking a lot of questions and telling her about my problems with panic attacks. She surprised my by calling. In fact she called a few times just because she said she was thinking about me and wondered how I was. She was a treasure in the doll making world and I'm sure many of us will miss her. I found her husband is still keeping her business going so google her name to find places where you can buy her patterns and back issues of the newsletter she used to publish. I own a few of the patterns and they are fantastic! I also have all of the newsletters.
