Thinking about shuttles again

I've been thinking about starting to sell things at my Etsy shop and at Ebay that have to be mailed. Right now all that's up at Etsy are PDFs of my patterns.

I have 2 plastic tubes with Halloween dolls and 1 with Christmas stuff I'd like to sell but I quite selling anything that resulted in me going to the post office last year once covid hit.

You may have noticed I also stopped selling tatting shuttles and that was because of covid, too. I'm thinking about selling them again. I love the large Tatsy shuttles for big projects and they are made in the US!!! Over the years I found Clover shuttles very popular so I'm looking for a wholesaler for their line. Another problem with this is that I'll have to open an account with a new distributor and that usually entails a $200 or more order and then I have to hope they'll still give me a good discount. In case you didn't know not all wholesalers give a 50% off discount even when they insist on large orders.

So it's all up in the air, just thought I'd write about it since a customer asked about my decorated shuttles.

Found the missing pattern....YAY!

It took a few weeks with getting ready for Thanksgiving, then holiday decorating, and then Jack (my husband) being on vacation but I did find the pattern. It was mixed in with another pattern I was working on. I checked that envelope a few times but didn't dump everything out. When I did, there it was. This is what happens when I work on too many projects at one time. It also keeps me from finishing stuff.

I listed some Christmas dolls at eBay. They're  snow ladies and Santa's elves. I have some felt cuties to list and some holiday tatted bracelets. The plan is to take pics tomorrow and get them up by Friday. That's the plan but I can never hold myself to them anymore. Take today, I was going to do the pics but got side tracked into having to do something else. This happens a lot especially when Jack is around. He always finds things to do that need my help.

Here are some pics of things at ebay and will be listed at ebay. There are more snow ladies than shown here.

Halloween Dolls and more at Etsy and Ebay

This is just one of the Halloween decor dolls I have up at ebay. Look for a Vampire Queen, a mummy, pumpkin ladies, and more there.

Here's a cat witch, too. I like to think that she was human but an enemy turned her into a cat. She got her revenge if you take a look at the cage she holds, inside are birds. Could they be those who put a spell on her?

Over at Etsy I have some Halloween items, too. Here's a tiny faery riding on a crow. She has a sister with orange hair who's also up for sale.
I hope you'll take the time to click the link for my Etsy store. To find my items at Ebay just search for creativestitches in the advanced search. Most of my Halloween items are on sale. Some are as much as $15.00 less! I wish I could go lower on some things but shipping costs have gotten crazy expensive.

Decorated shuttles with bags - almost all are sold!

Just a quick post letting you know there's only 4 shuttle & bag sets and 1 shuttle with no bag left at etsy. I put up 2 decorated shuttles at ebay just to see if they would sell there. Here's the pics:

Both are Aerlit shuttles. I'm finding that most of my mail order customers prefer shuttles without bobbins while my local customers prefer Aeros and then Aerlits. I'm thinking my next batch of shuttles will only be Moonlits and maybe Sunlits.

Here's more decorated shuttles and bags -

Below are pics of some of the decorated shuttles and bags I have up at Etsy and Ebay. I use either Aerlit or Moonlit shuttles. Some don't have matching bags.

This one is at ebay (creativestitches). It doesn't have a matching bag because I didn't have enough of this fabric.

This one is at Etsy. I do buy a lot of fabrics and papers with butterflies. I try not to cover every set with them.

These moonlit shuttles have paper instead of fabric like I usually use. One has a butterfly and the other a hummingbird. The bottom one is at Etsy. The other has already sold.

This one has the same fabric on both sides. I usually use 2 matching fabrics. Look for it at Ebay.

I love pansies and have had this fabric for a while. Like the bear fabric I used for a set I wrote about in my last post, this one has been on my fabric shelf not being used because I 'was saving it'. Time to stop saving and start using. I'm leaving the "she who dies with the most fabric wins" club. This set was at Etsy but it's already sold.

Gray dots are not something you often see so when I found this fabric, as a fan of dots, I had to buy some. I'm glad I did cause it matched this butterfly print fabric I had bought the month before. This set is at Etsy.

Now I can get back to work on my patterns. It's been SO rainy & dreary. I need to take pics for various patterns I'm updating and new ones I'm working on. A few weeks ago I found the majority of my pattern pics had been ruined so I decided to take advantage of it and take new pics for some of them. Since I take my pics outside I need the weather to cooperate.

Longer Shipping Times For Now

Life is getting a bit hectic and I won't have access to a computer everyday so I've set Patternmart to only PDF patterns and at Etsy I changed the 3-4 day shipping time to 1-2 weeks. I'm hoping to be able to check mail at least twice a week so it won't really take 2 weeks but just in case something would happen I set it for longer. Wouldn't it just be par for a customer to place an order in the evening the day I check my mail and do packages? Decided it's better to let my customer know shipping times aren't going to be good.

I won't be listing anything at Ebay during this time and my patterns at Patternspot are all PDFs so no problem there. If you need to contact me please go to Etsy and convo me. See the links at the side of the page. If you don't belong to etsy you can try my email but there's always the chance it will get sent to trash, bjh150  at (you know to replace it with @ don't you :) !  ) hotmail.com.

Sorry for any inconvenience this causes.

New witch doll at Ebay

I'm putting up this doll at ebay today. I call her Coral Anne, it came to me as I was finishing her. That's usually how I get all the names for my dolls. Every once in a while I just don't get one and then I pick a letter and go to baby name sites :)

Coral Anne is a half doll but instead of being built on a wood dowel and base, she's built on a black metal base. It was a candle stick and is wrapped with tiny leaf garland and pom-poms. This is a new style of hat for me and I really like it. It's decorated with black glass beads, orange and black seam binding ribbon, orange netting, and phesant feathers.

Please have a look at her by searching user name creativestitches at ebay!

More Halloween up at Ebay

I listed this mummy doll today at Ebay. She's another of my half dolls, meaning they have no legs and are built on dowels and bases. Instead of a painted face this one has embroidered features. I did the embroidery by hand for this face years ago and never used it. Thought this would be a good doll to use it for. She's dressed in tea stained muslin and cheesecloth. The muslin cat she holds is sewn from muslin and is wrapped in cheescloth. Type creativestitches in the ebay search to find this and my other items.

I finished a witch last night and I love her. She's one of those things I make where I'm tempted to keep instead of sell. I'll post more about her when I get her listed. Tonight I'll be working on a new pumpkin lady that's also a witch. If I can get her hat done she'll be ready for her pictures. I'm trying out new shapes of hats and I'm really pleased with the first hat so I'm hoping this shape will be great, too.

Halloween items up at Ebay and shuttles at Etsy

I'm listing Halloween decor at Ebay under the seller name creativestitches. The picture above shows a witch cat holding a metal cage with 2 birds inside. The cat and the others are half dolls. That means they are built on wood dowels and bases. They have no legs but with the base they stand.

This is my vampire queen. Yeah, I know the photo's sideways but that's one of the weird problems with blogger.

This is Yvette, a pumpkin princess. She has a wire crown.

Here's another pumpkin lady.

Over at Etsy I put up aerlit tatting shuttles. I have some new colors.

If you are a fan of true pink then this is the shuttle for you.

Here's a new blue shuttle. Notice that the bobbins are the sky bobbins also used for the carribean sky shuttle and sold as packaged sets of bobbins. I seldom carry any of the color bobbins but I do can the pearl clear ones for the aerlits.

Put some tatting supplies up at ebay

I just got interent service back after being without for over 24 hours. Thanks a lot verizon :-p It's been happening a lot lately but not for this long. They even sent me a new modem for free. Mine was from 2007, so yeah it was time. Nice to have a modem with wifi instead of 2 separate pieces. Just hope that whatever was causing all the problems like getting knocked off the internet has been fixed.

I know I seldom put tatting things up at ebay unless they are jewelry but I decided to list 3 shuttle/bag sets and 2 chatelaines with gauges. Here are some pictures.

The 2 at the bottom have Eiffel tower printed fabric, so cute! Hope you'll head over to ebay and look for these items being sold by me, user name creativestitches. Thanks!

Time to Welcome a New Year....

Time to put away the holiday dec and get back to work.

I sprained my ankle and had to shut down the Etsy store right after Christmas. I also let all the listing expire at Ebay. I planned on re-opening last week but once again while out feeding the birds I lost my balance (was wearing smooth soled shoes, bad, very bad on ice) and landed in the snow. Unfortunatly it wasn't enough to cushion me so I was feeling pretty bad for a few days.

Now that I'm feeling better I'll be relisting at Ebay, including listing some Valentine dolls and the I'll opening the Etsy store.

This is a pic I meant to share last fall. I won the tote in a contest writer Laura Levine had. Last year I won books, a calendar, and other fun stuff from contests writers hold. This year I only entered Lauras, one Kim Harrison had, and two for Janet Evanovich books. I took the pic in front of one on my book shelves. This one's fill to the edges with books to read.

Holiday Dolls and Tatted Jewelry up at Ebay!

I've been listing more Items at Ebay. Have a look for these rings made using a free pattern by a very talented tatter , yarnplayer. Look for her things at etsy using that name!

I've also listed some bracelets. There are my own design. Basically there are pieces of trims, some with beads some without attached to metal findings.
Here's some pics.

There are Christmas winter type dolls up, too. No pics here since they all go sideways. Thanks google for not fixing something that has been happen for years :(

I've never listed any of my decorated shuttles at ebay before as auctions but I decided to try these 3. Go to ebay and search for seller creativestitches to find what I have for sale. I've never made a heart pocket bag before and probably won't again.

I couldn't get the doll pics to upload right so please go to ebay or you can find their pics at my Facebook page.

Halloween items up at Ebay!

This is just one of the Halloween decor items I have up for sale at Ebay. Type in my seller name, creativestitches, to find dolls and more. Plus I've listed some old quilting and embroidery patterns as lots. The mark down is extreme for these items as I just want to clean out some of my supplies.

Last month I entered an online contest at author Laura Levine's Facebook page and won this tote bag. I love how big it is! I use it to carry my books back and forth when I go to the library.

Another New Pattern Up for Sale!

This new pattern was done as an update to my old mermaids and shells pattern. This doll is slightly bigger. Audrina is 16" from the top of her hair to the tips of her tail. The really big change is her hair. It's mohair that's been cut from the skin. I bought mine at Ebay but Etsy as well as other online places sell it. There are a lot of tips and color photos, along with step-by-step instructions and drawings to help you make her. I like her made in the orange batik for a goldfish look.

This is what the clamshell looks like. Fun wire is hand sewn along the edge so it can be shaped. Fun wire is also sewn to the tail for the same reason.

Look for Audrina and her seashell at my Etsy store and at Patternmart as Pdfs and printed patterns. At Ebay I'm only selling printed patterns but would put up a listing for a PDF if asked. At Patternspot only PDFs are available. If you have any questions please contact me thru Etsy or Ebay.

A Season of Mini Quilts - Summer is ready for sale!

Yay! I finally finished the Summer tatting pattern. I still have to order photos for printed versions but you can buy the PDFs at my Etsy store and at ebay right now. As always you get the color charts for each tatted project and the directions for the finished projects. This PDF is the largest of al the patterns so it may take a while to download.

Think about it, for only $12 you get the tatting patterns plus the hows for making the 2 tote bags, the sewing caddy, the small pillow, and the felt card holder. You'd probably pay about that much for a pattern for the sewing caddy or the bucket tote. So even if you aren't a tatter you could buy it for the sewing patterns.

To wish you a happy 2016 I put free PDFs of 2 calendars at my web site. One is 1 page of the entire year and the other is 12 pages with 1 month per page.

I'm finally back and have new items at Etsy and Ebay

I have been meaning to write since Nov. but something always gets in the way. Here's a pic of a new elf doll I put up for sale at ebay.

Her name is Aimee and she's a Valentine elf. The heart shaped bag hold small paper valentines I printed. They're copies of vintage ones I found at Pinterest.

Next I have some red tatted bracelets at Etsy. Here's a 26" long wrap bracelet. I have more there in red and other colors. Soon I'll be listing some ecru ones with copper colored beads and hardware/

These are my newest tatting gauges. They're a little different from previous ones. I now have some colored rings and hooks. I've also stopped putting labels on the plastic since sometimes they don't stick. You'll find them at my Etsy store.

This is one of my newest projects. I started decoupaging shuttles last Sept. After making some for myself I then started making them to sell. I've held off selling them till now because I wanted to make sure the shuttles I've been using stayed nice. I was worried that the glaze I'm using might crack or loosen. I still think anything decoupaged should be treated with care. Don't get them wet and realized that the glaze could crack with use just like anything else that's be decoupaged. Right now I have 3 up for sale at Etsy. They are all Handy Hands Starlit shuttles. I'm have 3 more I'm working on right now and then I plan on doing some Aero or Aerlit shuttles.
