New Rabbit Pattern at Etsy Store

This is Chester and in this photo he's sitting on a pincushion puff. In the next both are attached to a round gift box.

You get full pattern pieces and step-by-step directions with drawings and photos I've even added how I decorated the box.

Chester wears a top hat, vest, and spats. He's sewn from felt and is holding a cluster of felt carrots.

My version would be great as a bridegroom or New Year decoration or make in light colors for Easter. Use a larger box and fill with grass and candy or other gifts.

I'm not sure when I'll post any free designs. I'm busy knitting things for a friend and we'll be moving back to our house full time. I'll miss spending time in the woods but things have changed so we must move back to BF. That means a LOT of packing and getting rid of extra things. I'll have to sell all the dolls and things I've been storing and they will go at a low price. Now to decide on FB marketplace, ebay, or etsy. I'll also donate to the local library and the humane society store. After about 8 /2 years living in 2 places we have a lot of duplicate stuff.

I'll try to post updates when I can.

Finally the new tatting pattern is up and a SALE is coming!

 Yes, It's finally up. The tatted jewelry pattern has been done for a few weeks but "Life has intervened" and so it was put off. I haven't had time to even be on the internet lately so if anyone has tried to contact me that's why there's been no answer. 

This pattern is designed like my other patterns, meaning it's meant to be printed book style with the paper folded in half. Each design is written so you can print just the ones you want to work on. I used DMC and Lizbeth threads for everything but the green bracelet and earrings set. That gorgeous bright green came from Yarnplayer at Etsy. I LOVE her threads! 

That's 2 new tatting patterns in less than a year. Amazing what I can finish when I really find the time to work on it. I'm working on 2 new sewing patterns and updating 2 old ones I no longer even list. 

May's free embroidery will be later in the month. I've had a hard time deciding on the flowers I want to embroider in this section. It's about half done.

February is National Embroidery Month!

 

 Since this month is national embroidery month I put all my embroidery patterns at Etsy on sale at 20% off. Above is a new one I just listed. It's called Pocket of Hope. The little pocket is made to hold a memento, small photo, or a folded piece of paper. Perfect for a gift with a wish or prayer written on it!

Directions to put it on a quilt are also included.

New patterns up at Etsy and on sale

 I finally got 5 new embroidery patterns up at Etsy. I started these during covid lockdown in 2020. It's taken me these 4 years to finish them and write up the patterns. Each patterns has 2 triangles and 1 hexie. The triangles have a word in a heart. I did each set in a different color, flowers and other embroidery stitches needed to make each slightly different. I call the patterns Words of Hope.

They are 20% off until Dec. Hope you like them!

Hope and Faith in purples. This was the first I designed.

Peace and Believe in yellow as the main color. This is my favorite because of the bee and sunflower.

New embroidery pattern at Etsy

 

I started making this set and 4 others during covid lockdown. The words seemed to need to be embroidered to me. Here's the link to the pattern. wish-imagine pattern

Of course instead of a banner you can skip the triangles and frame the hearts or do them as quilt blocks for a wall hanging. There are 10 hearts all together.

I'll list the next one when I finish writing the directions. Now that this one is done the rest will go faster.

Sale at Etsy Store

 

It's Christmas in July! I'm not really a fan of seeing holiday decorations at this time of year but I also know some people need to get started on gifts and decorations so I've put a selection of winter/Christmas patterns on sale for 20% off until August 4.

I'll be listing some new items this week at Etsy and over at Patreon. I have a new embroidery pattern and some free tatting patterns to list.

A New Tatting Pattern!

 I finally finished a new tatting pattern. Actually some of these patterns were the original tatted quilts I made. The Grandmother's Fan and Garden patterns are not like the basic squares I use in the other 3 patterns or my other tatted quilt patterns. I was never sure about charting them so set them aside while I moved on to the basic block designs.

This pattern is now at my Etsy store. You get all 5 tatting designs plus the directions for the items they are on.

The Fans are on a circular bag. There's a pocket on the outside and a divider inside. The Irish chain is on a drawstring bag. Grandmother's fan is on a tea cozy. The pinwheel is on a pincushion with a pocket. The blockade blocks were made into pins and glued to spiral bound index cards for a journal to keep small motifs and their directions. It's based on art junk journals.

Right now and until the new year all the patterns are on sale !!

BTW, I updated the freebie Dec. pattern. I finally found all the info so the stitches and DMC colors are now listed.

I just listed another new pattern at my Etsy store! It's been included in the Oct. sale I'm having on select patterns.

I'm really catching up on writing directions for designs that have been done and waiting. This is for another crocheted design that holds a penny for luck. At my Etsy store there's patterns for a shamrock and a flower. 

Now I'm working on my new tatting patterns. Since there are 5 patterns for tatting and 5 for the items I put them on it takes a lot longer to write. So far 2 are completely done.

Another New Pattern up at Etsy!

 

This is an updated version of an old pattern I designed in 1997. This new version has a easier dress and pantaloons for the large sheep. I also named them. The 6" is Daisy and the 14" is Poppy. Oh, and Poppy looks cute with a wide ribbon tied in a bow around her waist, too.

Two New Patterns Up at Etsy Store and on SALE!!!!!

 

This is Emily Jane, a tiny 8" shabby chic rabbit. The pattern also includes the tine cone basket she holds and the felt carrots that go in it. Perfect for sitting in a basket, perched on a shelf, or even sitting among flowers on a wreath.

Fall is coming and that means thinking about "Halloween"! Hazel and Maddy are cute little witch cats sitting (sewn) in felt pumpkins. Use them for pincushions or holiday decor. Hazel, the gray cat, is sewn into a white felt pumpkin that is then sewn to a dotted fabric pumpkin. That pumpkin is then attached to a metal candle stand. The stand is actually upside down so the pumpkin could be sewn to the legs. Any type of holder would work but one for a pillar candle looks best. If you don't want to use a candle stand then look at Maddy, the black cat. She is sewn into an orange felt pumpkin that is attached to the lid of a plastic jar. I filled it with tinsel, tiny pumpkin, and table scatter.

Like the idea of having a kitty pincushion  but not decked out for Halloween? Just change the Halloween items for your choice of fabrics and decoration. Leave off the hat and attach pretty bows to the heads.

Big Sale at my Etsy store

I decided to run a December sale and it's 25% off all PDF patterns including this new one I just finished for Christmas. I've never run such a large discount and it will go away on Jan 5,2022.

Ok, I admit I'm not a church goer but I do believe. And at this time of year when so many people are concerned with the amount of gifts they want, have to  buy, and all the expense I felt the need to design this passage. It's a reminder that Christmas isn't a day to fill the house with gifts but with compassion for others.

Hope your holiday, no matter how or what you celebrate, is filled with love.

Finally after 4, no 5 years the new seahorse rider is done!

 Here they are, Kailani and her seahorse Seafoam! The pattern is not for the beginner doll maker, but by leaving out the wiring on Seafoam and doing as easier hairstyle on Kailani, the beginner who has made some dolls will be able to make a simpler version.

 I had soooo many ideas for this pattern that I kept setting her aside. I decided that this past winter was going to be the time I finally finished her. She is an updated version of my old seahorse riders pattern.

I have Seafoam tucked in some seashells and that's how I plan to display them but just like the original pattern you can add thread or fishing line to the top of the seahorse and hang them.

Here's another pic so you can see the fin Kailani is sitting on and the ruffled bustle over her pants. Her hair is Tibetan lamb wool. I bought the skin at Ebay and cut the wool from it to attach to Kailani's head.

Seafoam's fins are wired with fun wire and pearls. I decorated both Kailani and Seafoam with seashells, beads, pearls, sequins, and glitter.

Now about Kailani's name. It is a girls' name and is pronounced kye-LAH-nee. It is of Hawaiian origin, and the meaning of Kailani is "sea and sky". As a sea nymph she can breath under water and in the air.

 Look for them to be put up at my Etsy store later this week.

New Pincushion Pattern up at Etsy

 

I hate to be early with this pattern but it is more of a winter design than Christmas and I know we sewers need time to make things. 

These snowmen are my latest pincushion pattern. The blue one is attached to a puff then to a cardboard spool. It's an empty one that held decorative ribbon. It's covered with fabric and ribbon, then decorated. The aqua snowman is attached to a plastic snow globe I bought at a dollar store. I filled it with small wood spools, buttons and other sewing notions. This would be a fun gift for fellow sewers. Need a grab bag gift for your sewing circle or quilt guild? Snowflake would be perfect.

Updated Mini Clothespin Patterns

Here's another of my mini clothespin doll patterns. This one is for a topsy turvey doll! The pattern has been updated with new photos and mistakes I found have been fixed. I can't believe I never had the tiny heart in the patterns :( If anyone wants to make her, but doesn't do any wood working, I'll make up a kit like the ones I have at Etsy for the regular dolls. 

Two days ago the weather people on TV in Pittsburgh were warning of really bad thunderstorms and even possible tornados but the weather has been good with no rain so here. We could use the rain for the gardens but heavy storms could break the delicate plants. I'm not a fan of summer any more. It just means so much work. Between cutting grass and having gardens at 2 homes I'm always so tired I can't get much sewing done. So here it is the beginning of June and I'm longing for October.

Jingles is loving the weather. A fav spot is on the walls of the basement garden. I call it that because the garden is inside what was the basement of the original house on this property. One side is collapsed and that's the way in. We had to put up a makeshift fence to keep the ducks and chickens out. They ate all the beet seedlings and dug up the lettuce seeds.

The place were Jingles is in the photo below was a leaning part of the wall. Jack knocked it down because it was dangerous. There's fencing across it, too though you can't see it in the picture. Something else you can't see in the picture are the small snakes that live in the wall. Not a fan, but understand they won't hurt me so I can live with them. Nefertiti is also in the photo. She a silver laced chicken, very pretty but a bit standoffish compared to the rest.

Sadly I have to report that we have lost 2 of the female ducks. Not sure what's taking them but for now the rest are staying in their large pen. Only one female has a name, Bangles because she has 2 bands on her one leg. The rest are too similar to tell who's who. I pray everyday none of the chickens disappear. They all have names and I'd miss them so much. Jack says we need to sell off one of the male ducks now. It will be hard since we've had both for a couple of years. We have Glen, the campbell duck and Blade, the runner. Yes, I named them :) 

Clothespin Doll Kits at Etsy

I finally sorted kits for making my clothespin dolls. The clothespins have been cut and drilled. I even give you a small piece of sandpaper to clean up the cut edges. As you can see in the photo you also get the head bead, wire, and directions for putting the pieces together. The kits come in 2 choices of curled yarn, yellow or brown. BTW, I'm working on updating the mermaid pattern and making a new fairy pattern. It's all about finding the time now that my husband has got the gardening bug and he's dragging me along for the work.

New Embroidery Pattern up at Etsy!

Some of you may reconize this design. I updated and added to last years June/July stitch-along. Now it's a PDF pattern for sale at my Etsy store for $3.50. There are a lot more pictures and directions. This is the first in ones I will be selling there.

Sorry for not writing sooner. I was sick with food poisoning and it's taken me 2 weeks to feel well enough to get back to work. I won't be eating any tuna for a long time :(

New pincushion pattern for sale at Etsy!

Couldn't wait to get this new pattern up at etsy and let you know about it here. Cute little Violetta sits on a pin cushion decorated with felt flowers and leaves. As always there are full size patterns and step by step directions to make your own sweet bunny. Oh, and she doesn't have to sit on the garden pincushion. She's a nice size to tuck in wreathes and on shelves. If you make her as a gift for a small child remember to embroider the eyes and nose, and leave off the beads if the kid's a chewer :) 

Clothespin dolls patterns now up at Etsy

I finally listed all 7 mini clothespin doll patterns at my etsy shop. They run $5.00 for a PDF but right now they are included in the 25% off sale I'm running.

Above is the angel pattern. The tall angel in the back is a tree topper.

Below is the topsy turvey pattern. One side has long braids and has more of country look while the second side has short curly hair and lace on her clothes.

There are also patterns for mermaids & fairy, Ann & Andy, Amish, pincushion girls, and little girls. These are some of the very first patterns I wrote so they don't have all the drawings and photos my new patterns have. Most aren't written book style either like I do all my patterns now. If I make time to update these patterns I will send the new version for free to buyers.

I'm trying to take at least one of Johanna Basford's classes, either at her web site or the daily ones at facebook every day. I bought a sketchbook and some new erasers, dug out my old cheapy compass and fav pencils, then decided to use this box (a Marjoin Bastin, who I love!) as my supply box. This is what I'm doing to "keep calm and carry on". Her doodle-like drawings are also helping with my pattern designing. No, really they are :)

Will be late with next stitch-a-long but there's news!

Above is a pic of my new pincushion pattern. He's Frederick the frog and he sits on an old crochet cotton ball I decorated. He's being sold at Dollmaker's Journey and Patternmart right now. I'll be putting him up at my Etsy store this week. That also means I'll finally be getting the store open again. 

The reason I'm behind in posting the directions for the next stitch-a-long is that my husband's BD was Aug 29, our anniversary was the next day, and now it's the holiday weekend. I'm stealing a little time to post this but have to get back to cooking.

BTW, I'm dividing the embroidery into 2 months. It's a project that keeps getting bigger so I decided it would be best to do that, especially at this time of year.
