This is a little applique piece I've been working on in between unpacking (and yes I'm still sorting). It all started with the large hummingbird in the lower right corner. it was from a class thru Making Zen. Ann Smith taught it but as always I did my own version. She gave a few extra pattern for those who paid for that series of Making Zen classes.
I used one her patterns for the wren but the owl is my own pattern and I used lace down the chest.
The paper pattern pinned to the left is another from Ann but I'll be changing it so it looks like a blue jay (which is my FAVORITE bird).
The last section is for either a cardinal or yellow gold finch. Depends on my Fabrics.
I've also been tatting small hearts. I plan on making up bags of tatting and maybe some fabrics to sell at esty. The tatting is great for crazy quilting and scrap booking like junk journals.
